FIRST, Couture!

Have you been following the couture shows this week? I know some fashion bloggers focus more on street style and such, but high fashion is a complete weakness for me, so here are some of my favorites... :) .

Thimister:

Joseph Thimister presented his Fall 2010 collection after about a decade of abscence from the industry. It wasn't exactly the same traditional couture clients are used to, but his bloodshed and military themes are prevalent today and can cater to what the new generation is looking for in couture.

Dior:

If anything, John Galliano knows how to put on a show, and this was completely amazing. Sarah Mower points out the transition between his last two, lingerie-style shows and this one, proof he's truly back in the saddle.

Givenchy:

Riccardo Tisci has finally mastered the concept behind Givenchy. It seems like he's found a niche in between the old esthetics of the brand and the current demands of the industry at the moment. After his last amazing collection, this one was crucial in securing his stance in the business. Job completely well done!

Ahh, Chanel. So, so, so beautiful. Karl stated simply that this collection was not about black or navy and that there was not one gold button. Instead it was a hybrid of his lingerie-inspired ideas at Fendi and a bright, more cheery version of the Chanel classics. And it completely works!
